When Should I Bring My Child In For a First Dental Visit?
Dr. Neale recommends that parents plan to bring their child in soon after they’ve gotten their very first baby tooth. This may seem early, but it will allow your baby the chance to get used to the sights and sounds of our office. We can also check their little mouth for any signs of developmental problems and offer parents plenty of good advice about keeping their developing smiles clean at home.
As your loved one grows, our approach to their care will grow right along with them. Brief exams will turn into regular checkups and cleanings, and services like dental sealants, fluoride treatment, and even tooth-colored fillings may become necessary at times. Don’t worry – if your child is afraid, anxious, or unable to sit still for treatment, IV sedation is available to make their care much safer.
